Hello!
I began my farming adventures in Northeast Vermont, tending animals and vegetables at a small non-profit farm. After finishing school and playing in Las Vegas, I traveled to western North Carolina, where I apprenticed for seven intense and productive months at an organic vegetable, flower, and mushroom market farm. Paradise! By a twist of fate, I next journeyed westward, to begin a small garden-farm (farden? garm?) for a wilderness lodge in Eastern Oregon. I am now in my second season of this challenging position--growing vegetables, herbs, and some flowers-- in a mountain valley with an extremely short growing season, in isolation from the main joys and distractions of civilization. I've decided to begin my blog again, which I first pursued in North Carolina, to hone my skills of observation and reason, share my love for vegetables, and as part of my desire for spiritual growth in the areas of gratitude, awareness, and responsibility.
I hope you like it.
